Maintenance of the City's storm drains is managed by the Public Works Department. You may contact the Public Works Department by clicking here Public Works

PARK MAINTENANCE
City crews and contract personnel maintain Fletcher Cove and La Colonia Park, including the cleaning of restrooms and special cleaning projects on an as-needed basis. For issues with Park Maintenance contact the Public Works Department by calling (858) 720-2470 or send an email by clicking here Public Works.

PUBLIC FACILITIES
City crews and contract personnel maintain City Hall, La Colonia Park Community Center, and Fletcher Cove Community Center. If you know of any issues with City facilities call (858) 720-2470 or send an email to the City Engineer by clicking here City Engineer Mo Sammak.

STREET SWEEPING
The City contracts out street sweeping services. All streets are swept at least once a month and the major roads are swept more frequently. The City requests that residents park off their street on the respective street sweeping days as it is more difficult and less effective if cars are parked in the street. For a complete schedule, please see the following link:

  • Street Sweeping Schedule

ENGINEERING/PUBLIC WORKS PERMITS
Common permits issued include encroachment, grading and sanitation permits. In general, an encroachment permit is required whenever construction or temporary storage is being conducted in the public right-of-way. A grading permit is needed if earth is being moved on-site and the work is not covered under a building permit. A sanitation permit is required when connecting to the public sewer. Repairs to the public sewer, such as private lateral connections, require encroachment permits.
